Our Country’s Flag

Flag Day is celebrated June 14^th. Our nation’s flag is a proud symbol of the United States and its people. This 12 minute program will trace its history over the years, from flags used in early colonial days to introduction of the first “Stars and Stripes” flag during the American Revolution, and the changes that evolved in it as our nation grew to fifty states.

Roger Wilco’s Math Flight

This is an excellent web based computer program. It will re-enforce mental math and computation skills for grades 1-4. Use it to help prepare for the NYS 4^th. Grade Mathematics exam, coming up May 5-7. Students answer math questions to propel a simulated fighter jet.

Learn about the special days and events that are commemorated during this season. This video relates the changes of seasons to major holidays and special days celebrated by people of various ethnic groups in the U.S. Included are: Easter, Passover, Arbor Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Flag Day, and Memorial Day.
