The theme, aiding the poor and vulnerable personally means to help those who are less fortunate than us. Frequently, we think of helping the poor and vulnerable by donating food or clothes to recompense. They will take everything that you offer because they require daily necessities. We all have the personal responsibility of creating an alliance to help the poor and homeless. We should hurry to attend to this issue to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and safe in our community. When we don’t take the responsibility to care for the poor and vulnerable, it will become out of hand, and many people will suffer. Our school, St. Francis of Assisi in Astoria, Queens, has given us many examples that show us mercy and caring for others. One example includes the March of Dimes fundraiser that we conduct. This allows us to raise monetary donations for those in need in our community. Our school, Saint Francis Of Assisi Catholic Academy, raised the March of Dimes because we wanted to raise money for the poor and help the poor from suffering.
During the last year and a half of experiencing the Covid-19 pandemic and social unrest, all New Yorkers have been bewildered and addressed this theme. My classmates and I have seen everyone take this to heart because everyone has been donating to the sick and vulnerable. Everyone has worked as an alliance and helped each other out in this troubled time. More ways that we have all helped each other during these difficult times are donating to the shelter or buying food for homeless people on the streets. Another way is our school does little sisters of the poor, in Little sister of the poor almost everyone donates food, money, and goods. Jesus has paved the way and has shown us many examples of mercy. Jesus has anointed the people that are suffering from sickness. Jesus also watched over and cared for the homeless people on the
streets. We all try to help everyone in need which is not feeling well all the time. During this time, it is even more important to donate or do whatever you can to help the poor and vulnerable. Many homeless people suffer from starvation, and if you buy food for homeless people, you will save a life just like Jesus did when he provided food to those who were hungry in poverty. If you can donate and contribute to helping the poor and vulnerable, they will much appreciate it.
