The New York Bearing Witness program will take place this summer, August 12- 15 at Manhattan College, Bronx, NY.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Holocaust, WWII and anti-Semitism while at the same time gaining a more in-depth understanding of our own Catholic heritage.  The program is geared toward middle and high school social studies teachers.

The Bearing Witness Program won the NCEA SPICE Award (Selected Programs for Improving Catholic Education Award) in 2000.

Elementary school teachers in the Diocese of Brooklyn may the use the hours they accrue for attending this institute to apply for professional development credit.  There is a nominal registration fee of $75 that covers all expenses, materials and food during the institute.  The registration fee is paid after you are accepted to the program.

Note:  Applications must be postmarked no later than June 1, 2013.
