“BEARING WITNESS: ANTI-SEMITISM, THE HOLOCAUST, AND CONTEMPORARY ISSUES”
WHEN: Monday-Thursday, August 3-6
WHERE: Fordham University-Lincoln Center Campus and the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
Bearing Witness is designed exclusively for Catholic school educators to learn about the long history of Catholic-Jewish relations and Holocaust education in the 21st century. Highlights of the program include special sessions featuring a rabbi and priest presenting together; private tour of the Museum of Jewish Heritage; hearing testimony from a Holocaust survivor; and visiting a local synagogue for a tour and Model Shabbat dinner.
Participants will learn from Holocaust experts and scholars on Catholic-Jewish relations, meet a Holocaust survivor, network with dedicated educators, and receive a certificate of completion.
Middle school teachers, high school teachers, seminarians, administrators and librarians are encouraged to apply.
No prior experience teaching about the Holocaust or anti-Semitism is required.
