Who is Dr. Seuss?
Dr. Seuss is the pen name of Theodor Seuss Geisel, who was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1904.
He attended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, and then went to Lincoln College, Oxford, as a graduate student, then worked as an illustrator and cartoonist, before publishing his first children’s book, And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street in 1937.
Famous Dr. Seuss characters include The Grinch, The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, Sam-I-Am.
He died in 1991 aged 87.
