Please allow me to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Angela Russell, and I have just joined CTN as part of the Media Specialists Team, along with my colleague Laura Hickey. It is a pleasure to have joined CTN! I consider myself fortunate to have been given this opportunity to join an organization with such a fine reputation, going into its 50th year serving the educational and spiritual needs of the children in the diocesan schools of Brooklyn and Queens.
This position offers new and exciting challenges to me, all of which I am looking forward to. Prior to coming to CTN, my background entailed working as a former NYCDOE teacher – as well as frequent facilitator of Professional Development for numerous schools. I am well acquainted with the technology standards and needs of the classroom, and have dedicated my career to sharing the wonderful world of Education 2.0 – preparing students and teachers for 21st Century learning. Furthermore, I led several strategic technology planning teams – developing curriculum, facilitating professional development, and collecting data of student learning. The last position I held was as a SMART Educational Professional (SCEP), providing SMARTboard professional development and training. Now, I look forward to this new position where my responsibilities will include professional development and lesson planning using the Learn360, Education City, and Mathletics programs CTN provides to you completely free of charge.
I’m quite anxious to get started with these new challenges, and would like to speak with you and discuss the possibility of providing Professional Development workshops and curriculum integration modeling with your faculty. I will be working with Laura to provide introductory lessons during a faculty meeting, afterschool or any time that works best for your school.
Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org – I’m looking forward to having an opportunity of chatting with you over the next while.
