Pollution is when harmful materials get into the environment. These dangerous materials are called pollutants. Pollutants can be natural, like volcanic ash. They can be caused by human activity, like trash or the toxic chemicals created by factories. Pollutants can harm the land, air, and water.
People create pollution by cars, power plants, airplanes, spray cans, etc. Cars let out pollutants from their exhaust pipes. Power plants release mercury into the air that falls into waterways and accumulates in fish that we eat. Airplanes burn fossil fuels, which release carbon dioxide and other pollutants like nitrogen oxides. Spray cans also emit nitrogen oxides, which lead to the formation of ground-level ozone. Not only is pollution harmful to the environment but also to wildlife. Pollution can affect nature because it can cause organ injuries, stress, diseases, and even death. Examples of corruption being harmful to wildlife are throwing plastic products and other types of trash in the ocean. Every day, many marine animals get caught in plastic, and this can cause marine animals to get several injuries or even die.
One way we can reduce pollution is to take fewer trips in your car. Another way we can reduce pollution is to avoid using gas-powered equipment. We should also avoid burning leaves, trash, and other materials. In addition, we should turn off lights when not in use. Besides reducing pollution, we should also help wildlife. One way we can help wildlife is by planting trees. This will provide a habitat and food for the animals. Another effective way we can help wildlife is by picking up trash. Trash can easily get caught in animals, tiny animals such as birds. This can harm the animals, but it can make it easier for predators and hunters to hunt the small animals. Lastly, we should take action and inform people about this. We can also donate to animal rights organizations.
In my opinion, we should’ve stopped pollution a long time ago. God made this earth for us to live on, and we’ve done nothing but destroy its beauty and hurt the creatures living on it. We should all take a stand and stop pollution. One day, I want to join an organization where we help stop decay and use our voices to stand for it. I also want to join an animal rights organization to help prevent pollution from harming animals. I hope society will one day understand how much damage they have caused the Earth and fix it before it’s too late.
