Showcasing student work-
We are all too familiar with the hallway bulletin board. At the beginning of the year, we are eager to use new board paper and patterned border trims, but as the year goes by, we are inclined not to switch backgrounds, or use colorful Post-Its, and for some, student work may remain the same for months.
At the same time, we have to think about who gets to see the work- truth is, its limited to those in the building, and in some cases, those who are able to walk by the classroom door.
One way we can get creative with showcasing student work is though Google Slides. We can use reuse the same Google Slide presentation to share exemplar work one NEW slide at a time.
To get started create a Google Slide with Title and Insert a New Slide- post student artwork, video, essays, etc. on the slide and repeat for how many examples you want to showcase. You then can embed the slide in your Google Classroom, blog, or webpage by going to
- File> Publish to Web.
- In the new window, click > Embed,
- Choose a presentation size and how quickly to advance the slides.
- Click >Publish.
You will be given a code in the text box to copy and paste it into your site or blog.
To add or update, just add New Slides in the original presentation, and the slides will automatically appear on your blog or website.
