An full day technology professional development workshop is being offered on Friday, November 15th from 8:00AM until 3:00PM at St. Mel School in Flushing, New York.. The cost of the workshop is being covered by a Technology Grant through Futures in Education and the Catholic Foundation.

The workshop will focus on project based learning using Frames software from Tech4Learning.  The day is targeted to classroom teachers in grades 5 through 8.  It would be beneficial to select a classroom teacher who has the capability of sharing what he/she learns with your teachers.

Project based learning (PBL) will assist your teachers in creating rigorous projects that foster student engagement.  Project based learning will also assist your teachers in creating engaging cross-curricular units of study.

If you are interested in sending a teacher from your school, simply email the name and grade of your teacher no later than Wednesday, November 6 , 2013 by following these instructions:

1.  You can create an email on DioNet/First Class to me,  cc Catherine Kenny and Julie Mansour.  We are all in the system, therefore, when you put our names in, they will appear.
2.  In the subject line, please enter Tech4Learning.
3.  List the name of one teacher from your school along with his/her email address and grade level.

Coffee will be available in the morning and lunch will be provided.

We hope that you will take part in this valuable professional development opportunity.
Mr. Anthony Biscione
Senior Deputy Superintendent of Schools
